FORESTCan Gio has an ecological forest on an area of more than 70,000 hectares, including 35,000 hectares of mangrove forest. The fauna is very diverse. The Vam Sat – Can Gio area is a UNESCO-recognised world biosphere reserve.In Vam Sat, there is a natural bird yard on 100 hectares with various species of precious birds.
The Can Gio forest extends along Dan Xay bridge to Can Thanh. There are crocodile farms and islands of monkeysThe highlights include a boat cruise to a bat sanctuary at Vam Sat, a short hike through the mangrove forest and a visit to the local commando headquarters. Lunch then drive back to Ho Chi Minh city.
